CAPTAIN AND CREW

CAPTAIN CHARLES STONE

Hi, I’m Captain Charles Stone.  Thank you for taking the time to tour our site and consider us for your next trip.  I know you have many choices when it comes to fishing guides in our area so I wanted to share with you a little about myself.   I joined the United States Air Force in 1993 and was stationed here directly after basic training.  I spent 20 years of a 22 year career here locally at Hurlburt Field AFB.  I started fishing the coast of Fort Walton Beach and Destin as soon as I was stationed here.  In the beginning, I fished solely for recreation and had no thoughts of becoming a fishing guide.

Around 15 years ago I realized that I found even more pleasure in sharing my knowledge with those around me than fishing alone. So, I started my quest to earn my captain’s license and purchased all the permits required to run a fishing charter.  I have been a USCG licensed Captain since 2006.  When I retired from the Air Force, I had to make a choice to either continue a civilian career as an aviation maintenance technician or chase my dream of being one of the best charter boat captains in the area.  I chose the latter.  Now that I’m retired from the Air Force, I dedicate 100% time to ensuring our charters meet your every expectation.  I don’t have a second job and when not chartered, I’m working to improve our next charter.  I welcome you to spend a day with us.  Whether you are an experienced salty dog or a first timer, I will use everything in my tool box to ensure you have a memorable experience on the water.

Business Manager

Sheryl Stone

Sheryl and Charles have been married since 1994 and she has been the backbone of Blue Water Escape Charters.  She takes care of much of the logistics of the business while Charles is offshore.  She also will likely be the voice when you call to make your booking.  She knows the business and has worked as a deckhand for many trips.  She often out fishes Charles on scouting trips.  Feel free to ask her about what to expect because she has first hand knowledge.  If you book a trip with us, Sheryl will be a big part in making sure it goes smoothly as Captain Charles is not known for his organizational skills.
