Recommended and mandatory items on diving trips
Mandatory
- Be at least open water SCUBA certified
- Recent dive experience or must hire a divemaster. (divemaster can be hired for $25 per trip)
- Certification Card
- Serviceable regulator with pressure gauge.
- Serviceable Buoyancy compensator
- Mask and fins
- Computer or bottom timer (watch)
- Dive tables for the gas being consumed, if not diving on computer
- Documentation of gas blend percentages if diving blended gases. (shop tape or sticker on tank showing blend)
- Safety Sausage (inflatable signal tube)
- Dive knife (Destin has a large fleet of fishing boats, you may encounter abandoned fishing line)

- Snorkel to prevent air consumption at the surface
- Sunscreen (no aerosol)
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Clothing that matches weather reports
- Appropriate wetsuit
- Bathing suit
- Snacks
- Drinks (water provided)
